Ray Allen Biography

Before making it all the way to the NBA, Ray Allen played basketball at the collegiate level for the University of Connecticut. In his final season there he won the Big East Player of the Year Award which led him to becoming the 5th overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. Allen was much sought after thanks in part to his accuracy in shooting free throws and three point shots. He is even the NBA’s all-time leader in three point shots made and attempted in the regular season and postseason. Throughout his career, thanks to his accuracy at three point shots, Ray has amassed some hardware, including an Olympic Gold Medal as a member of the 2000 United States men’s basketball team, as well as two NBA Championships. Allen was a ten-time All-Star. won the NBA Sportsmanship Award, and a former NBA Three-Point Shootout Champion.
