Rob Dibble Biography

In the 1983 MLB Draft Rob Dibble was drafted to the Cincinnati Reds in the first round. In his second season in the majors Dibble became one of only 41 pitchers to accomplish a nine strike, three strikeout half inning, known as an immaculate inning. While he was known for his temper on the field, Rob used that anger to fuel his play on his way to becoming a two time All-Star as well as a World Series Champion and an NLCS MVP. Rob has the distinction of recording his 500th career strikeout in fewer innings (368) than any other pitcher in the history of modern baseball. After battling injuries late in his career, Rob retired from playing with an earned run average under 3 and 645 career strikeouts. He then decided to go into broadcasting. He joined ESPN as a baseball analyst and later joined FOX in the same role.
