Stewart Cink Biography
Stewart Cink, a family man with a wife and two kids, is an American professional golfer most notably known for winning the 2009 Open Championship. Cink was born in Alabama but now resides in Duluth, Georgia. Moving to Georgia after high school, Cink attended Georgia Tech in 1991, playing golf for the Yellow Jackets and graduating with a degree in Management.
Wasting no time, Cink made his professional debut immediately after graduating, joining the PGA Tour in 1995. A year later, Cink dazzled fans by becoming the Nike Tour Player of the Year and the Nike Tour leading money winner.
In 1997, he continued to dazzle fans, earning himself the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award. Between 2004 and 2009, he spent over 40 weeks in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking. Throughout his professional career, Cink earned eight victories in the PGA Tour, three in the Web.com Tour, and five miscellaneous victories in various other notable tours.
