Tori Allen Biography

Tori Allen grew up from a young age climbing trees in the jungles of Africa. When she was just 4 years old her and her parents relocated to Africa where she began to climb trees and get quite good at it. When she was 10 she began climbing on rock walls and entered and won her first competition a month later. Since that time Tori has risen to become one of the top ranked climbers in the United States. She became the youngest person to climb a route with a 5.13a out of a possible 5.15a difficulty on a first attempt. Her success stems from her natural ability that comes in part from her flexibility and long arms, but also her history in Africa where she literally climbed with the monkeys and was able to mimic the way they climbed. Among other awards, Tori has also been a gold medal winner in climbing at the Gorge Games in 2001.
