Vitor Belfort Biography

At the age of 19, Vitor Belfort came over to the United States from Brazil to begin his professional mixed martial arts career. Shortly after, he joined the UFC and became the youngest fighter to win in the octagon in 1997 at the UFC 12 Heavyweight Tournament, a tournament he would go on to win. That victory launched Belfort into a successful UFC career that spans to this day where he is rated 3rd in UFC middleweight rankings and 15th in the pound-for-pound rankings. He has a professional mixed martial arts record of 24-10 with 17 KO’s and in 2004 won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with a TKO of Randy Couture. Belfort has also been given shots at the UFC Middleweight Championship and another shot at the Light Heavyweight Championship and in 2007 won the last Cage Rage Light Heavyweight Championship. Belfort has been named Knockout of the Night 5 times and in 2013 was awarded UFC Knockout of the Year for his spinning heel kick to Luke Rockhold.
