Webb Simpson Biography

Webb Simpson is a golfer on the PGA Tour and winner of the 2012 U.S. Open. Simpson has won four events on the Tour and finished second on the money list in 2011. He has competed for the U.S. in the 2012 and 2014 Ryder Cups and was named a captain by Tom Watson in his second go-around. Turning pro in 2008, Simpson had to play on exemptions before earning his PGA Tour card for 2009 at qualifying school. At Wake Forest, he was a three-time All-American and the ACC Player of the Year in 2008. Simpson played for the Demon Deacons while on the Arnold Palmer Scholarship. As an amateur, he was on the winning teams at the 2007 Walker Cup and 2007 Palmer Cup. Simpson is a devout Christian and originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. Each November, he hosts the Webb Simpson Challenge golf tournament, aimed at raising money for charity and providing spiritual growth.
