Wes Welker Biography

Wes Welker has crafted one of the great football stories of the modern era. Undersized and undrafted, Welker went on to be a five-time Pro Bowl and four-time All-Pro pick. He won three AFC Championships between his time with the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos. As a master possession receiver for future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, Welker led the NFL in receptions three times and the AFC in receiving once. No one caught more passes in the league during his tenure with the Patriots. Welker was originally signed by the San Diego Chargers, but got his career break during three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Accumulating several records while in Miami, he is regarded as the best return man in franchise history. Welker’s eight punt returns for the Red Raiders in college is an NCAA record.
