Adam Oates Biography

Adam Oates is a Canadian former professional hockey player.  During college Adam set school records for total points and assists in the Eastern College Athletic Conference and was named an NCAA All-American in 1984 and 1985.  After three years in college, he drew much interest from many NHL hockey teams and was signed by the Detroit Red Wings, finishing his rookie season with 9 goals and 11 assists.  After this impressive showing, he quickly established himself as a big time player and earned the interest of several other teams, for which he played.  Over his 20 year career, Adam gained immense respect, logging over 1000 assists and being selected to five All-Star teams.
