Alshon Jeffery Biography

Alshon Jeffrey is a devastating deep threat receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. Jeffery exploded onto the NFL scene in 2013, his second pro season with the Chicago Bears. He finished with 1,421 yards and seven touchdowns. That performance garnered Jeffrey Pro Bowl honors and the designation of Most Improved Player from the Football Writer’s Association of America. In Week 5 of that season, he broke the single game team record for receiving yards with 218 yards against the Lions. Jeffrey was originally drafted by the Bears in the second round out of South Carolina, where he had a historic career. He was a two-time All-SEC pick and MVP of the Capital One Bowl in his final college game. He was a runner-up for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s top receiver, in 2010. South Carolina’s emergence as a football power followed the same timeline as Jeffrey’s Gamecocks career. He is originally from St. Matthews, South Carolina and attended Calhoun County High School.
