Andre Tippett Biography

Andre Tippett was a Hall of Fame linebacker for the New England Patriots. In his 12 year career, Tippett made five Pro Bowls and was a four-time All-Pro. He has a Patriots record 100 career sacks and was a member of the NFL’s 1980s All-Decade Team. Tippett went to the playoffs three times, including one Super Bowl. He was picked in the second round of the 1982 NFL Draft out of Iowa. At Iowa, Tippett was an All-American and two-time All-Big Ten pick. As a captain his senior year, he led the Hawkeyes to their first Big Ten title in two decades. Iowa honored him as a Hall of Fame inductee in 1989. Tippett is now the Patriots’ Executive Director of Community Affairs. He has played some role in the New England front office since his retirement from football. His speeches focus on motivation, team building, and leadership.
