Antwaan Randle El Biography

Antwaan Randle El is one of the most unique athletes to step foot on an NFL field in recent memory. Randle El played wide receiver for nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins. He is most remembered for the variety of trick plays he could execute as a former college quarterback. Randle El had a banner 2005 season, getting first team All-Pro honors as a kick returner and winning Super Bowl XL with the Steelers. In the Super Bowl, he threw the go-ahead touchdown pass on a double reverse to Hines Ward. As a result of his many high percentage passing attempts, Randle El is the all-time leader in passer rating for a player with more than 20 throws. He was originally a second round pick out of Indiana in the 2002 NFL Draft. With the Hoosiers, Randle El was the first player in Division 1 history to throw for 40 touchdowns and run for 40 touchdowns. He was the Big 10 Freshman of the Year in 1998 and the Big 10’s Most Valuable Player in 2001. Randle El also played two seasons of basketball for IU legend Bobby Knight and one season of baseball.
