Arjen Robben Biography

One of the most successful Dutch soccer players, Arjen Robben has competed in three World Cups for the Netherlands, making it to the 2010 final with the Oranje. Robben plays for Bayern Munich in Germany’s Bundesliga. He also played for powers Chelsea in the English Premier League and Real Madrid in Spain’s La Liga. In total, Robben has seven league titles. He scored the winning goal and won the UEFA Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2012-13. The pinnacle of his career as an individual was winning 2010 Footballer of the Year in Germany. In international play, he has 28 goals in 86 appearances. Before coming to the larger leagues, Robben spent three seasons playing in the Dutch league, Eredivisie. He won the Eredivisie title and was named Dutch Young Player of the Year for the 2002-03 season. Robben is sponsored by Adidas. He is married to his childhood sweetheart Bernadien Eillert.
