2018 Heisman Trophy Winner and #1 pick for the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 NFL Draft, Baker Mayfield, born April 14,1995 and is a former quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners. Mayfield began his college football career as a walk-on player for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He is notable for being the first walk-on true freshman quarterback to start a season opener at a BCS school. Mayfield transferred from Texas Tech to Oklahoma following alleged scholarship issues and a lack of communication with coaches. After sitting out the 2014 season due to NCAA transfer rules, Mayfield won the starting quarterback job in 2015 over Cody Thomas and incumbent starter Trevor Knight. Mayfield was awarded the 2017 Heisman Trophy. He received 732 first-place votes and a total of 2,398 points. This translated to 86% of the possible points and the third highest percentage in Heisman history. In addition, Mayfield is the only walk-on to ever win a Heisman Trophy.
