Bernie Parent Biography

Bernie Parent is one of the greatest goaltenders in the history of the National Hockey League.  During his 15 year NHL career he starred for the Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Blazers.  Prior to signing with the Bruins he played in the OHA-Jr. league with the Niagara Falls Flyers and led them to a Memorial Cup title in 1965.  During his career he was named to five NHL All-Star teams and won 271 games with 55 career shutouts.  In the playoffs he tallied 38 wins with 6 shutouts in route to helping the Philadelphia Flyers to back-to-back Stanley Cup titles in 1974 and 1975.  Parent’s contributions to the Flyers were honored in 1979 with the retirement of his legendary No. 1 jersey.  Five years later he took his rightful place among the best to ever play the game in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
