Brad Richards Biography

Brad Richards made his NHL debut in 2000 with the Tampa Bay Lightning and also played for the Dallas Stars from 2007 to 2011 before landing with the New York Rangers.  Richards was born and raised in Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island and played for Rimouski Oceanic from 1997 to 2000, where he earned CHL MVP honors and led his team to a Memorial Cup title.  Over the course of his NHL career he scored 298 goals and tallied 634 assists.  He has also added 34 goals and 57 assists for a total of 91 points in 123 career playoff games.  Throughout his career he has been a consistent performer in the regular season and postseason and helped the Tampa Bay Lightning to a Stanley Cup title in 2004 and the Chicago Blackhawks in 2015.  In 2004, he also earned the Lady Byng Trophy for Sportsmanship, and has since earned an NHL All-Star selection in 2011.
