Bret Boone Biography

Bret Boone was one of baseball's best second baseman during his 14-year career. Boone was a three-time All-Star, four-time Gold Glove Award winner and two-time Silver Slugger. After attending the University of Southern California, he was selected by the Seattle Mariners. When Boone debuted for the Mariners in 1992, he became the first third-generation player in major league history.  He had his first major success playing with the Cincinnati Reds from 1994-98. Boone truly came into his own when he returned to Seattle in 2001. He helped the Mariners win a big league record 116 regular season games. That season, Boone led the American League with 141 RBI and finished third in AL MVP voting. He continued to be a standout for four more seasons in Seattle before finishing his career with the Minnesota Twins in 2005.
