Cam Newton Biography

Cam Newton was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers after winning the Heisman Trophy and a BCS National Championship at Auburn University in 2010.  Newton’s career honors at Auburn include winning every national player of the year award as a quarterback in 2010 and earning the SEC Player of the Year Award.  His college career began at the University of Florida where he was a member of the Gators 2009 BCS National Championship team.  The following year he led Blinn College to an NJCAA National Championship before heading to Auburn.  In 2011 Newton joined the Panthers and won Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors after breaking the NFL record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 14.  Since that time he has earned three Pro Bowl selections and was the 2015 NFL MVP.
