Chris Ballard Biography

Chris Ballard was named the Indianapolis Colts general manager in 2017. Before arriving in Indianapolis, he was the Kansas City Chiefs director of football operations. He also spent two years as the Chiefs director of player personnel. The franchise made three playoff appearances during Ballard's time with the organization. He spent 12 years in the Chicago Bears personnel department. Ballard was the southwest area scout from 2001-11 and director of pro scouting in 2012. Before making his jump to the NFL, he was on the coaching staff at Texas A&M-Kingsville. He played college football for four years at the University of Wisconsin.
