Chris Leben Biography

Chris Leben grew up watching the UFC and quickly knew that’s what he wanted to do for a career. Following his high school graduation where he wrestled as well as learned how to box, Leben joined the United States Army where he was promised he could wrestle for the army’s tea. When he was not allowed to wrestle, Leben went AWOL and was discharged from the military. Leben joined an MMA gym and joined Team Quest where he began wrestling as an amateur. After 5 successful fights, Leben turned professional where he again won his first 5 fights, winning the first WEC Middleweight Championship. Leben was selected as a member of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter where his died red hair and loud mouth made him one of the more controversial members of the show. Leben went on to fight in an UFC record 22 Middleweight bouts, while compiling a 22-12 professional record.
