Craig Conroy Biography

Craig Conroy was one of the most-respected players during his 18 seasons in the NHL.  Conroy played over 1,000 games combined for four different franchises, but his time in Calgary is what stands out the most.  He had two stints with the Flames and was a longtime captain of the team.  The pairing with superstar Jarome Ignila helped Conroy significantly and he led the club in scoring in both 2002-03 and 2003-04.  He also helped the Flames reach the 2004 Stanley Cup Final where they lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in seven games.  The Potsdam, New York native also suited up for Team USA in six games during the 2006 Winter Olympics.  Following his retirement, Conroy entered the Flames front office and is currently the Assistant General Manager.  He has long been active in the local community and serves as a spokesman for the Flames Foundation for Life.
