Darnell McDonald Biography

Darnell McDonald played for six Major League Baseball franchises over a seven-year career. The Baltimore Orioles originally selected him in the first round of the 1997 MLB Draft and he was regarded as one of baseball's top prospects. McDonald made his major league debut with the Orioles in 2004. After that late-season call-up, he did not make it back to the big leagues until 2007 with the Minnesota Twins. McDonald had the most success of his career as a utility outfielder with the Boston Red Sox from 2010-12. He played his final games with the Chicago Cubs in 2013. McDonald became the Cubs first Mental Skills trainer in 2015 and helped the franchise win the World Series a year later. He currently continues to help athletes through the organization he founded, SVA Sport.
