Dave Joerger Biography

Memphis Grizzlies’ head coach Dave Joerger had not been an NBA coach ever until he came in as a Memphis assistant in 2007.  Joerger worked under two different head coaches before getting his shot in 2013.  He has led the Grizzlies to back-to-back 50-win seasons.  Joerger has an impressive record as a head coach in various minor leagues.  He wracked up three CBA Championships, one D-League Championship, and one IBA Championship.  Twice, Joerger was named CBA Coach of the Year.  His first coaching job was an assistant position with the IBA’s Dakota Wizards, the team he would later go on to guide to a CBA title.  Joerger started out as the general manager in Dakota after a collegiate playing career at Concordia College and Moorhead State.
