Donny Anderson Biography

Donny Anderson is a retired NFL halfback and punter who spent nine seasons in the league with the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Prior to his time in the NFL, Anderson attended Texas Tech University where he would play four seasons. His time at TTU would be great, as Anderson would go on to rack up the awards, including two All Americans, three All-Southwest Conference awards, and leaving the school with multiple rushing records. His efforts were recognized following his graduation, as Anderson was inducted into both the Texas Tech and College Football Hall of Fame. In 1965, Anderson turned professional by singing a contract with the Green Bay Packers, going on to play six seasons with the team as their halfback and punter. Anderson was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in 1972, playing for three more seasons before retiring prior to the 1975 season.
