Drayton Florence Biography

Drayton Florence is an NFL cornerback who last played for the Carolina Panthers in 2013. Prior to his time in the NFL, Florence played collegiately at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for two seasons before transferring to the Tuskegee University for his final two seasons. As a senior, Florence was named a Division II All American, eventually graduating in 2000 with a degree in social work. Following his graduation, Florence was drafted in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. In his rookie season, Florence played in all 16 games, totaling 20 tackles, following this effort with a four-interception season in 2004. Florence would play for the Chargers until 2007 playing in every game but six. After one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2008, Florence played four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, recording eight interceptions and over 150 tackles. Florence left Buffalo in 2013 to join the Carolina Panthers, playing in 14 games with the team, his last NFL action.
