Eddie Jordan Biography

As a player at Rutgers University, Eddie Jordan holds school records for number of career assists (585) and steals (220). Jordan went on to have a 7 year career in the NBA, including an NBA Championship in 1982, before retiring and beginning a career as a coach. Jordan returned to Rutgers to assist his old coach, Tom Young, and followed Young to Old Dominion before receiving a job as an assistant at Boston College. Jordan became an NBA assistant coach in 1992 with the Sacramento Kings and remained there for 5 seasons until he was named head coach for one season in which he led the Kings to a 33-64 record. After being fired from the Kings, Jordan joined the New Jersey Nets coaching staff until 2003 when he was named head coach of the Washington Wizards. Jordan helped turn around a struggling Wizards franchise and led them to four straight playoffs. Jordan also returned to his alma mater in 2013 as the head coach of the Scarlet Knights.
