Eric Murdock Biography

Coming out of Providence College in 1991, Eric Murdock held school and an NCAA record at the time. His records included most career steals (376), most points in a game (48), and most free throws in a season (238). Murdock’s prolific college career warranted him being drafted 21st overall in the 1991 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. After a single season with the Jazz, Murdock was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks where in the ’93-’94 season he had the best season of his career, appearing in 82 games and averaging 15.3 ppg. Murdock went on to play 9 seasons in the NBA for several teams, and played a single season overseas with Italy’s Teamsystem Bologna. After his retirement, Murdock served in a role as the director of basketball player development at Rutgers University before the program went through several legal actions surrounding head coach Mike Rice.
