Hunter Smith Biography

Hunter Smith is a retired NFL punter who played 11 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and the Washington Redskins. In high school, Smith was a quarterback, tight end, punter, and kicker, earning two Texas All-State honors. Smith chose to play his college football at the University of Notre Dame. In four seasons at Notre Dame, Smith would garner two All-Independent honors in 1998 and 1999, and he graduated in 1999 with a degree in Theology and Sociology. He went on to enter the 1999 NFL Draft, and he was selected in the seventh round by the Indianapolis Colts. During his rookie season, Smith was named to the NFL All-Rookie team, and he was the Colts punter up until signing with the Washington Redskins in 2009, eventually retiring in 2010. He now focuses on his farming life as the owner of WonderTree Farm.
