Jack Mitrani Biography

Jack Mitrani is a professional snowboarder in his twenties and member of the “Frends” crew. The crew, a group of professional snowboarders including his older brother, Luke Mitrani, established themselves as unique individuals who feed off of each other to reach new heights and influence one another to be better each and every day. Mitrani grew up in Mammoth Lakes, California, and has been competing professionally since 2005. He has been sponsored by Frends, Burton, Billabong, Mammoth Mountain, Anon, Amp and Mimi’s Cookie Bar so far. Some of Mitrani’s most recent accomplishments include taking eighth place at the Australian Open in the 2008-’09 season, closing out the Winter Dew Tour circuit in fifth place overall, taking eighth place again at the Burton New Zealand Open the following year, making a bid for inclusion on the 2010 U.S. Olympic team, and taking tenth place at both the Mammoth Mountain and Copper stops of the Grand Prix. Mitrani is known for constantly striving to reach his fullest potential. In fact, in 2008 he sustained a serious injury doing just that. In an attempt to break the world record for a quarterpipe air at the Billabong Air and Style event, Mitrani ultimately broke his back and had to sit out for the remainder of the season. However, he came back stronger than ever and is admired by many for his extreme dedication to being the best that he can be.
