Jean Ratelle Biography

Hockey Hall of Famer Jean Ratelle was a New York Rangers standout and ended up with a distinguished 21-season career.  Ratelle also played the second stanza of his career with the Boston Bruins and was an assistant coach for several seasons with the club.  In his 21 seasons, he totaled 1,267 points and was the sixth leading scorer in NHL history upon his retirement.  Twice, Ratelle was awarded the Lady Byng Trophy as the player who exhibited the best sportsmanship.  At the age of 23, he survived a severe back injury and spinal chord surgery to enjoy his prosperous career.
