Jerry Kelly Biography

Jerry Kelly was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin and played his collegiate golf at the University of Hartford. Upon graduating from Hartford in 1989 he turned pro and began a successful career that has spanned over two decades. In 1992 he captured his first professional win at the Wisconsin State Open and went on to win two tournaments on the Nike Tour in 1995, capturing the NIKE Alabama Classic and the NIKE Buffalo Open in route to becoming the tour’s leading money winner that season and being named the Nike Tour Player of the Year. His success on the Nike Tour earned him a spot on the PGA Tour in 1996. During his career he has won three PGA Tour events, with the first coming in 2002 at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He topped that performance that same season with a win at the Advil Western Open, and went on to win the 2009 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. His top performances in major tournaments came in 2007 when he finished tied for 5th place at the Masters Tournament and tied for 7th at the U.S. Open.
