Joffrey Lupul Biography

Joffrey Lupul is an alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs.  Lupul was an All-Star in 2012 and scored two goals as an alternate captain in his appearance.  He has been to the postseason seven times and is the first player to score a playoff hat trick in Anaheim Ducks history.  In Game 3 of the 2006 Western Conference Semi-Finals, Lupul scored all four goals for the Ducks as they topped the Colorado Avalanche.  Following the 2012-13 season, he helped the Leafs to their first playoff appearance since 2004.  Anaheim made Lupul the seventh overall pick of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.  He made the leap straight from his Junior career to the NHL.  Lupul played Junior hockey with the Medicine Hat Tigers.  In 2003, he won a silver medal with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships.  Lupul is of Ukrainian-Canadian descent and is originally from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.  He now lives in Southern California but hosts an annual charity golf tournament in Edmonton.
