John Shuster Biography

John Shuster grew up in the cold northern weather of Minnesota, where he developed a passion for winter sports. Eventually he got into curling and has since become a top competitor on the international circuit. In 2003 he made his debut at the United States Curling Championships and earned a gold medal in the team competition. He’d go on to win a gold medal at the 2005 US Olympic Curling Trials and earn a spot on the Team USA Curling Team. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin he led his team to a bronze medal. That same year he won his second gold medal in the team competition at the US Curling Championships, and followed that up with a gold medal at the 2007 Winter Universiade. Since that time he has won more gold medals at the US Olympic Curling Trials and competed in both the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympic games. In 2012 and 2013 he earned consecutive bronze medals at the US Curling championships. Shuster is a member of the Duluth Curling Club, and serves as the skip on his four-man team.
