Jonathan Martin Biography

Jonathan Martin joined the Miami Dolphins in 2012 after a standout career at Stanford University as an offensive lineman. Although both of his parents are Harvard grads, he chose to attend Stanford to play football and study ancient history. During his career with the Cardinals he earned consecutive First-Team AllPac-12 and All-American honors in 2010 and 2011 while also helping his team’s offense to record breaking passing and rushing numbers. With him holding down the offensive tackle position he helped Andrew Luck lead the league in passing efficiency for two consecutive years and All-American running back Toby Gerhart rush for a school-record 1,871 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2009. In the 2012 NFL Draft the Miami Dolphins selected Martin in the second round with the 42nd overall pick. Since that time he has played two seasons with the Dolphins before being traded the San Francisco 49ers in 2014.
