Kim Clijsters Biography

Kim Clijsters is a former world No. 1 tennis player in both singles and doubles. A native of Bilzen, Belgium, Clijsters won 41 World Tennis Association titles from 1997 to 2012. Her Grand Slam titles include winning the US Open three times in 2005, 2009 and 2010 and the Australian Open in 2011. She also made it to the finals of the French Open in 2001 and 2003. With a career singles record of 523-127 and a doubles record of 131-55, she achieved her world No. 1 ranking in both singles and doubles in 2003, the same year that she captured both of her doubles Grand Slams at the French Open and at Wimbledon. Over the course of her decorated career she accumulated $24,442,340 in earnings and was among the most recognizable players on tour. While playing she served as a valuable brand ambassador for several world renowned brands including Nike, Fila, Nutella, Citizen Watch, and banana producer Chiquita.
