Kim Hayashi Biography

Kim Hayashi is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii and is a former five-time National Bicycle League top ranked BMX racer. At 4’10, 128 pounds, Kim earned several nicknames during her career for her size and style that included “Shorty”, “Sushi Roll” and “Krashin’ Kim” due to her ability to come out unfazed from crashes during races. Perhaps the most fitting nickname she earned was “Tenacious K” for her tenacity on the course that helped her to several amateur and junior championships as well as the 2003 Elite Women and 14 & Over Girls Open Grand national Championship in 2004, the Junior Women’s Pro World Championship in 2004, and the 2006 RM59 Tropical BMX Challenge Pro Women Championship. In 2008 she competed in the Beijing Olympics on the US Olympic BMX team and continues to ride and be featured in several notable BMX publications including Factory Redline Pros, Moto Mag, BMX World, and ABA Action.
