Kris Letang Biography

Kris Letang is a top defenseman and serves as alternate captain for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins originally selected him in the third round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He has gone on to win three Stanley Cups in Pittsburgh. Letang is a four-time NHL All-Star and two-time NHL Second Team All-Star. He was named the Penguins Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, he finished fourth in Norris Trophy voting. Letang scored the game-winning goal in Game 6 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final and became the first player to register a point on all four game-winning goals in the series. Prior to joining the Penguins, he competed in international competition for Canada as a junior. He won World Junior Championship gold medals in 2006 and 2007.
