Kyle Beckerman Biography

Kyle Beckerman grew up in Crofton, Maryland and got his start in soccer on the 1999 Under-17 USA World Cup team. At the age of 18 he signed a Nike Project-40 contract with MLS, which allowed him to attend the United States Soccer Federation’s Bradenton Academy and landed him a contract with the Miami Fusion. After two years with the Fusion he headed to Colorado and starred for the Rapids in the MLS for six seasons, scoring 10 goals in 145 appearances. Since that time he has become a captain for the Real Seal Lake squad and scored 24 goals in 204 appearances while also playing for the United States National Team. Since 2007 Beckerman has been an instrumental part of the USA’s resurgence on the international stage, providing solid leadership and playing excellent soccer in 42 international appearances. In 2014 Beckerman made his FIFA World Cup debut in Brazil and started as a defensive midfielder in every game for Team USA.
