Laura Osnes is an American actress and singer who is known for her work on Broadway. Osnes began acting while she was in the second grade when she played a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz. Osnes attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for a year as a Musical Theatre major before she dropped out and pursued a professional career. From 2005-2006, Osnes became a performing apprentice at the Children’s Theatre Company, where she performed in Working, Aladdin Jr., Prom, and Pippi Longstocking. She also played the role of Sandy in Grease at the nation’s largest dinner theatre, the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, but this was cut short as she was chosen to compete in the nationally televised Broadway talent competition Grease: You’re the One That I Want! During the entire course of the show, Osnes was a favorite to win, and on March 25, 2007, she did just that. Osnes has also performed in Bonnie & Clyde, Anything Goes, Encores! Pipe Dream, and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
