Leonard Garcia Biography

Leonard Garcia graduated from Plainview High School in Texas and attended Texas Tech University to play football. During that time he also studied mixed martial arts and boxing, which would lead to his eventual career as a professional MMA fighter. In 1999 he made his pro debut and would go on to post an 18-13-career record with 10 wins by submission. Garcia got his start in the World Extreme Cagefighting circuit and went on to become a star in the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2010. In 2013 he returned to fighting in the Legacy Fighting Championship and won the Legacy FC Featherweight Championship. Garcia retired in 2013 as one of the top fighters in the world. During his career he sported a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and fought out of Lubbock, Texas as a member of Jackson’s Submission Fighting and Team Alpha Mate.
