Lynn Swann Biography

Lynn Swann is an NFL Hall of Famer and one of the all-time great Pittsburgh Steelers.  Swann was a three-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro pick.  With the Steelers, he won four Super Bowls.  In Super Bowl X, Swann caught four passes for 161 yards and a touchdown and was the first wide receiver to ever be named MVP.  His ability to always come up big in the clutch became the stuff of legends.  Swann was originally a first round pick out of the University of Southern California.  The College Football Hall of Famer won a national title with the Trojans in 1972 and was named an All-American in 1973.  Beginning during his playing career and continuing after, Swann was a sports broadcaster for ABC for 30 years.  Under President George W. Bush, he served as the Chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.  Swann ran as a Republican for Governor of Pennsylvania in 2006.
