Marian Hossa Biography

Marian Hossa was a five-time NHL All-Star and standout performer for the Chicago Blackhawks.  He was the 85th player in league history to top 400 goals in his career and the 80th to reach 1,000 points.  He has won two Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks.  With the Atlanta Thrashers in 2006-07, he became the first player in team history to score over 100 points in a season.  Hossa also went to Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings in consecutive seasons before winning the Cup with Chicago.  The Ottawa Senators originally selected him 12th overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.  In his rookie season, Hossa was named to the All-Rookie team and finished runner-up for the Calder Trophy.  He has played in three Olympics for Slovakia and his father was the former head coach of the national team.  His brother Marcel also played in the NHL.
