Mark Donovan Biography

Mark Donovan has a history with football, although not necessarily the one you may think. Born in 1966, Donovan attended and graduated from Brown University, where he was a quarterback and team captain for the football team. While he did have notable accomplishments with Brown, completing 120 of 239 passes for 1777 yards in his first season, his extent of playing in the NFL was signing as a free agent with the New York Giants. Donovan liked to focus more on what goes on inside professional sporting leagues. Becoming the director of sales and marketing for the National Hockey League from 1977 to 1999, he was able to do just that. In 1999, he then became the senior director of marketing and sales for the National Football League. Slowly but surely, Donovan kept climbing up that ladder. In 2003, he became senior vice president/operations for the Philadelphia Eagles and yet again in 2009, he became the Chief Operating Officer for the Kansas City Chiefs. Since 2011, Donovan has proudly been the president of the Kansas City Chiefs.
