Mark Martin Biography

Mark Martin is notably known for winning more NASCAR Busch Series races than anyone in the series’ history. As a former stock car race driver, Martin is a five-time IROC Champion, which is more than any other driver to date. In addition, he is a four-time ASA National Tour Champion and has placed in many other distinguished races over the course of his more than twenty year racing career. Born in Arkansas in 1959, Martin discovered his passion for the sport as a young man on the dirt tracks of his home state. Competing in NASCAR’s Spring Cup Series for 31 years, Xfinity Series for 23 years, and Camping World Truck Series for 5 years, it is safe to say that Martin was undeniably a hard worker and pushed himself to the best of his ability. Some of Martin’s most prestigious recognitions throughout his career consisted of being the recipient of the 1977 ASA National Tour Rookie of the Year Award along with being voted one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998.
