Martin St. Louis Biography

Martin St. Louis was born and raised in Quebec, Canada in the 1970’s and ‘80’s with a passion for ice hockey. St. Louis attended the University of Vermont Catamounts after being overlooked by several college hockey programs. Proving them all wrong, he went on to become one of the top scorers in the NCAA by his sophomore year. In addition, St. Louis was named the ECAC Player of the Year and went on to captain his college hockey team by his junior year. As a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, an award given to the top NCAA men’s ice hockey player annually, St. Louis’s developed an interest in the NHL. Although undrafted, he has been playing for the NHL since 1997 as a right wing that shoots lefty. St. Louis finished his career with the New York Rangers. St. Louis previously played for the Calgary Flames, Tampa Bay Lightning, and HC Lausanne. He also represented Canada’s national team and was a member of Canada’s gold medal winning team at the 2014 Olympic Games.
