Matt Elam Biography

Matt Elam has had great success since early in his football career. Elam attended William T. Dwyer High School where he played linebacker, defensive back, running back and wide receiver. Elam was named Gatorade High School Football Player of the Year and Mr. Football in Florida. Elam played in the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Elam attended the University of Florida on an athletic scholarship where he played on the Gators’ football team from 2010-2012. Elam became a full-time starter as a sophomore and as a junior, Elam was named First-team All-American and Firstteam All-SEC. The Baltimore Ravens selected Elam in the 1st round as the 32nd overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Elam had a breakout performance on December 16, 2013 against the Detroit Lions when he recorded 10 tackles and his first interception. Elam played for the Ravens for four seasons and is now making a comeback in football with the DC Defenders.
