Matt Kuchar Biography

Matt Kuchar is a seven-time PGA Tour winner. Kuchar attended Georgia Institute of Technology he was a two-time first-team All-American for the Yellow Jackets’ golf team. In 1997, Kuchar won the U.S. Amateur Championship title after losing to Tiger Woods the previous year. Kuchar won the Haskins Award in 1998 for being the nation’s top golfer. After graduating from Georgia Tech, Kuchar turned professional in 2000. After spending two years on the PGA Tour, Kuchar earned his first PGA Tour win at the Honda Classic in 2002. After a tough year in 2005, Kuchar lost his tour card and he failed to regain it at qualifying school so he played on the Nationwide Tour in 2006. In 2007, Kuchar regained his PGA Tour card and retained it through 2008. In 2010, Kuchar won the Vardon Trophy, and the Bryon Nelson Award. Kuchar experienced his best finish at The Masters when he finished in a tie for third.
