Michael Carter-Williams Biography

Michael Carter-Williams was the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year and star point guard for the Philadelphia 76ers.  One of the more unique talents in the league, Carter-Williams averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 assists, and 6.2 rebounds per game.  He is the current centerpiece of a rebuilding effort in Philadelphia.  It is the hope that Carter-Williams will eventually pair with frontcourt players Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid to give the Sixers a playoff contender.  The 11th overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft was a star at Syracuse during his sophomore year.  Carter-Williams was a second-team All-Big East pick and an honorable mention All-American.  Behind his career-high 24 points, Syracuse defeated number one seed Indiana in the NCAA Tournament and reached the Elite Eight.  Carter-Williams was a consensus four-star recruit coming out of St. Andrew’s in Barrington, Rhode Island.  He is originally from Hamilton, Massachusetts.
