Michael Lombardi Biography

Michael Lombardi has a varied background in the NFL front office and broadcasting. Lombardi was an assistant to the coaching staff with the New England Patriots and General Manager and Vice President of Player Personnel for the Cleveland Browns.  Lombardi also has been involved in the media during his various stints away from the front office.  He has been an analyst for NFL Network, Inside the NFL, and the NFL Today.

 

Lombardi was the founder and Editor-In-Chief of NationalFootballPost.com.  At times, he has also been a football columnist for SportsIllustrated.com and NFL.com.  His front office career dates to 1984 when he was hired by San Francisco 49ers head coach Bill Walsh to be a college scout.  In addition, Lombardi also has advised the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and St. Louis Rams on matters of personnel at one time or another.  His first job in football was as the recruiting coordinator at UNLV from 1981-84.  Lombardi graduated from Hofstra University and was a defensive lineman.
