Mikael Granlund Biography

Mikael Granlund is a rising star for the Minnesota Wild. The Wild originally selected Granlund with the ninth overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Before coming stateside, he played professionally for several teams in Finland. Granlund made his Minnesota debut in 2013. He has helped the Wild become more of an annual playoff contender. Since 2011, Granlund has also been a fixture for Finland's national team. In 2014, he notched seven points at the Olympics, the Fins won a bronze medal and he was named to the Olympic All-Star team. Granlund has been a part of teams that won World Championship gold in 2011 and silver in 2016.
