Mike Heinen Biography

Mike Heinen is the pride of Fenton, Louisiana, and played his collegiate golf on the links of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from 1985 to 1989. During his time with the Ragin’ Cajuns he was a two-time All-American and helped his team to multiple team titles while also tallying several individual wins. In 1989 he turned pro and joined the Nationwide Tour. In 1994 he won the Shell Houston Open in just his 10th start on Tour with a solid 16 under par performance to take the championship by three strokes. Thus far in his 25-year professional golf career he has competed on the Nationwide Tour, Canadian Tour and PGA Tour. During that time he has been one of the most consistent players on tour, and is respected for his solid swing, quiet demeanor and dedication to his craft. Heinen has truly represented his home town and home state well on golf’s grandest stage.
